Chicago’s own Metropolitan Brewing has chosen Lakeview’s Fizz Bar & Grill to unveil its latest creation, a single-hop beer using German tradition Hallertau hops. The only place Chicagoans will get to try this special India Pale Lager, ever, is at Fizz Bar & Grill during an exclusive tasting at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, May 19 during Chicago Craft Beer Week.

The Ravenswood-based brewing company’s small-batch IPL, an invention of Metropolitan’s owners, is the result of a brewing process using one type of hops, added three times to the boil. In addition to the free tasting event, Fizz will feature Metropolitan Brewing’s Dynamo Lager and Krankshaft Kolsch-style beer and Metro bottles for $4.
