Preview of Schlafly ’House In Session’ Ale Co-Brewed By Our Own Greg Engert!

Details

Politics and small batch brewing come together in perfect harmony this Monday night at ChurchKey. This event is not to be missed. Here’s why: while we enjoy every brewer that comes through ChurchKey’s doors to share their beer, this ale has a very personal connection. Our very own Beer Director Greg Engert was tapped by Schlafly Beer to travel to St. Louis in February – along with Greg Jasgur from Pizza Paradiso and Sam Fitz from Meridian Pint – and help create the recipe for the House In Session Ale. Not only was this a huge honor, but we now are able to offer all of you a sneak peek on Monday of this special brew.

Schlafly brewer Stephen Hale summed up the process and flavors best: "We dry hopped this beer with more than one pound of hops per barrel, Simcoe and Amarillo, which creates a malty, drinkable, hoppy IPA that is full of flavor and easy to enjoy.” Join us Monday starting at 6 p.m. for a taste and bit more on the story behind this collaboration. Namely, the fact that this release marks the introduction of The Small BREW Act, a piece of bipartisan legislation designed to encourage small, domestic brewers to invest in equipment, grow their businesses and create more jobs. We hope to see you there to support American craft beer. If you can’t make it out, do not fear, there will be an official launch event very soon. Stay tuned for details.
