Velvet Hammer Day is a celebration sour beer and saucy burlesque!
This year we’re offering three vintages of our Velvet Hammer - an Abbey Dubbel barrel-aged for a year in a gueuze-innoculated oak barrel displaying classic esters and acids resulting from Brettanomyces, Pediococcus, and lactobacillus. It is a dark and complex ale with a swwet-tart flavor profile bursting with dried fruits and nuts, tangy citrus, and just enough earthy, barnyard funk to pull the whole thing together.
We’re also releasing our brand new Framboozled which is a barrel-soured version of our 8% Strawberry Blonde, re-fermented with ripe raspberries and then bottle conditioned.
Sours available starting at noon in 750 ml bottles for on-premise or carry-out while supplies last. We will also be tapping a single keg of Velvet Hammer fifth at 2pm.
Once the sun starts to set, we’ll be moving the party indoors for a Burlesque show and DJ dance party - featuring the Derby Dines, Why Not Burlesque and a few surprises. And we’ll top the evening off with a burlesque costume contest. Best costume will win a Velvet Hammer vertical including vintage VH Third and Fourth, and newly-released Fifth.
