Durbanville Beer Fest & Anything that Floats

The Durbanville Beer Festival 2011 is in its second year and with just over 1500 people attending in 2010, this year promises to be an even bigger event showcasing more live bands, beer and food stalls. This is a family event, with loads of entertainment to keep the kids happy.
The National Sea Rescue Institute (NSRI) is on board this year and will be raising funds with a, “Anything That
Floats Race”. Homemade, muscle powered craft with the maximum of six crew will compete on a demarcated course to
become the 2011 Durbanville Beer Festival Champs.
The Durbanville Beer Festival showcases beers from South Africa’s Craft breweries to the larger commercial brew
masters bringing all beer lovers together to appreciate the fine craft of beer making.
Where else to hold such an event, but on one of Durbanville’s most prestigious wine estates, Hillcrest.
Full bar facilities will be available throughout the course of theevent. Gates will open at 10am so that you can patch any holes in you homemade craft before you set sail, and will close down at 8pm as the Cape Town sun sets.
