A tasting of American Craft brews with Artisanal cheeses.

This week we dispel the notion that wine and cheese are the only match made in heaven. In fact, the pairing of the two can give many sommeliers cold sweats. On the other hand, we have beer, the true partner for cheese that our tastebuds have been missing out on all these years. Beer is the de facto complement for cheese in many cultures worldwide. Cheese and beer grew up together on the farm, and the grain used to produce beer is often the same as that which is fed to milk-animals to produce cheese. More importantly, the flavors of beer and cheese - earthy, yeasty, musty, fruity, rich, toasty, floral - jibe in a way that those of wine and cheese simply cannot.
