Also our good friend KK from the Dunedin Doggie-Rescue will be raising money for his charity. This is going to be so cool! This is what he says;
The Sour, Lambic & Berliner Weisse Festival will also feature the Dogedin Doggie Rescue Booth, our good friend KK will be offering tastes of some very old Cantillons and other sours for his charity "old Vintage Sours and Lambics left to me by Joe Rayho on his passing in 2000. Joe was one of the original Tampa Bay Godfathers of Brewing…. Belgian style brewing started in TB as Joe and Manny were shipping in pallets of Chimay and Val Dieu and turning everyone on to these… when the laws changed and they could no longer ship in they started brewing Belgians.. turning other Homebrewers onto “you can make these too!”
Jay Rayho Memorial Vintage Tasting Booth
1 oz sample $3
Silent auction of a couple of the bottles
Pictures of Joe, his homebrew medals etc
Free tastes to anyone who can knew Joe and can produce a picture
I had a pallet of his best homebrew and commercial Belgian beers shipped down from Boston.
We have had “Joe Tributes” from time to time, and we would like finish them off with a Bang at your festival
Down to about 3 cases… most of what is left is Cantillion sours.
I brought one to one of the largest Sour Tasting… it was in Gainesville with Belgian Master Peter Bouchart of New Belgium Brewing attending. It was judged to be the one “most sour” of the tasting (Manny attended).
I cracked a bottle about a year ago and it is seems to be immortal!
We’ll have a keg of IPA and even a keg of Zombie Killer to revive your palate!!Cost:
$55 or $45 advanced tkts http://www.cajuncafeonthebayou.com
