Meddlesome Moth 2nd Anniversary - April Ale Week
In celebration of its second anniversary, Meddlesome Moth, located at 1621 Oak Lawn Ave., will host April Ale Week, a weeklong celebration of Texas beers featuring a variety of tappings and events, the week of April 9 to 16.
As a tribute to some of Texas’ breweries, the Moth will tap into some fantastic local (Texas) brews every day of the week for customers to enjoy. This will be the first chance for the public to taste some of the beers that have been selected for Ale Week, as a number of these rare beers have been saved in the Moth’s cellar. The restaurant also sent firkins to its brewing friends around the state to be filled a special beer selections and sent back for the celebration.
During the week, tappings will start at 5 p.m. Kegs will be tapped at noon during Saturday’s and Sunday’s activities. The tapping schedule and details are listed below:
Monday, April 9 – Peticolas Brewing Company (Dallas) – This tapping will be the world premier of their English Pale Ale. Peticolas owner and brewer, Michael Peticolas, will be at the bar to speak with guests throughout the evening.
Tuesday, April 10 - Live Oak Brewing Company (Austin) – Featuring a tapping of a cask-conditioned Schwarzbier. The brewmaster from Live Oak will be at the bar pouring and speaking to guests.
Wednesday, April 11 - Saint Arnold Brewing (Houston) – Offering a tapping of Endeavour Double IPA and Karbach Brewing Company (Houston) cask-conditioned Rodeo Clown Imperial IPA.
Thursday, April 12 - Deep Ellum Brewing Company (Dallas) – Featuring a tapping of a cask-conditioned, oak-aged, dry-hopped IPA and Darkest Hour Imperial Stout. Representatives from Deep Ellum Brewing Company will be at the Moth, as well, to talk about their beers.
Friday, April 13 - Real Ale Brewing (Blanco) – Tapping WT3F?! Wild Devil’s Backbone.
Saturday, April 14 - Rahr & Sons Brewing Company (Fort Worth) – Featuring a tapping of Regulator Doppelbock and (512) Brewing Company (Austin) will tap a whiskey barrel-aged Pecan Porter.
Sunday, April 15 - Ranger Creek Brewing Company (San Antonio) – Offering a cask-conditioned Lucky Ol’ Sun Belgian Golden Ale.
As an addition to the anniversary celebration, the Moth has planned an exclusive beer dinner with Victory Brewing Company for Monday, April 16 at 6:30 p.m. This is Victory’s first beer dinner in Dallas, and brewery owner Bill Covaleski will feature beers never before seen in Texas. There will be a total of six beers and four paired dishes. The dinner costs $75 per person, including tax and gratuity.http://www.mothinthe.net
