Flying Saucer will host its third annual beer festival, BeerFeast 2012, on Saturday, Sept. 22 from 1 to 6 p.m. in front of the Flying Saucer location in downtown Nashville at 111 Tenth Ave. South.
BeerFeast 2012 will feature an unlimited beer tasting session highlighting more than 40 breweries and 60 beers carefully selected by Flying Saucer’s own resident beer guru, Keith Schlabs, and Nashville Flying Saucer general manager, Brandi Allen.
“This event allows us to showcase a large selection of rare and unique brews for Nashville craft brew lovers to enjoy,” Allen said. “With more than 60 different craft beers on hand for this event, we are more than doubling the amount of beers we have had at festivals in previous years, and it will be a great opportunity to sample and experience some really fantastic brews.”
Unlike last year’s festival, festival attendees must be 21 and older to enter, and all guests must purchase a ticket to attend the festival. Rare and limited-release beers will be tapped every hour on the hour on the day of the festival from breweries such as Ommegang Art of Darkness, Rogue Dad’s Little Helper Black IPA, Smaltz He’brew Messiah Bold and Left Hand Wake Up Dead Imperial Stout. Also, the Saucer has arranged for popular local food trucks, such as The Grilled Cheeserie, Riff’s and Wrappers Delight, to be on site to sell food at the festival.
Tickets will be going on sale soon with a $5 discount off the regular ticket price of $40 for the first two weeks and will be available for purchase online at Beerfeast2012.com or at the Saucer.
On the day of the festival, if tickets have not sold out, they will be available to purchase for $50 at the door. Ticket purchase includes a commemorative BeerFeast tasting glass and sampling of the festival beers from 1 to 6 p.m. There will also be a designated driver ticket available for $15, which will include admission to the festival and complimentary soft drinks.
A limited number of VIP tickets will also be available online prior to the festival for $75, which includes a festival ticket, commemorative BeerFeast taster glass, early admission to the festival at 12:30 p.m., a food voucher redeemable at any of the three festival food trucks, a 2012 Beerfeast T-shirt and a VIP Brew Caddy lanyard to hold the taster glass. Additionally, all VIP ticket holders will have access to the VIP-only line to sample the hourly rare beer tappings 10 minutes before the general ticket holders.
