100% ABV Party

Details

Join us @ Maria’s Packaged Goods & Community Bar Sunday, February 17th for a BIG and RARE beer party from 6pm on. We will be tapping 9 beers that have a total ABV of 100% and a total combination of IBU’s of 511. Beer is measured on a scale by its strength of alcohol by volume (ABV) and its bitterness or IBU (the International Bitterness Units scale) defined in co-operation with the American Society of Brewing Chemists.

We will be pouring them in small portions so you might be able to try them all.

Featuring:

Dogfish Head 120 Minutes: Brewed to a colossal 45-degree plato, boiled for a full two hours while being continuously hopped with high-alpha American hops, then dry-hopped daily in the fermenter for a month and aged for another month on whole-leaf hops!

Clocking in at 15-20% ABV and 120 IBUs, 120 Minute is by far the biggest IPA ever brewed! It’s easy to see why we call this beer THE HOLY GRAIL for hopheads!

Perennial Abraxas: Brewed with ancho chiles, cacao nibs, vanilla beans & cinnamon sticks. Intense and nicely balanced with the chocolate and roasted flavors.

Goose Island Bourbon County Stout: Brewed in honor of the 1000th batch at the original Clybourn brewpub. A liquid as dark and dense as a black hole with thick foam the color of a bourbon barrel. The nose is an intense mix of charred oak, chocolate, vanilla, caramel and smoke.

Revolution Straight Jacket: A strong ale to warm your insides in the dead of winter. Deep aromas and flavors of dark stone fruits, bourbon, molasses, toasted coconut and vanilla come in waves.

Revolution Very Mad Cow: Aged in Woodford Reserve Barrels for 7 months with a sweet vanilla and bourbon smell and a subtle hint of tobacco.

Against The Grain Macfannybaw: Aged in used Angel’s Envy Bourbon Barrels to give an intense caramel, vanilla and whiskey flavor
this Rauchbier was an attempt to replicate the flavors present in Islay Scotch Whiskey using Munich malt as a base and copious amounts of Beechwood and Peat smoked malt, which provides the intense smoky and earthy peat flavors found in Scotch.

Three FLoyds Mentol: This super hoppy and super malty brown IPA was brewed with the assistance of Brodie’s Fabulous Ales in the fashionable East End of London. With a slight nut and pine scent, the hops gives off a nice citrus aroma with a slight touch of Citrus and pine hops.

Three Floyds Alpha Klaus: A big American Christmas Porter brewed with English chocolate malt, Mexican sugar and tons of American hops. With hints of chili peppers, chocolate malts and cinnamon.

Evil Twin Imperial Biscotti Break: This highly recommended marvelous stout pays homage to the dark side of the maltsters craft. With coffee and espresso notes, hints of cocoa, vanilla, and sugar this is quite drinkable for being such a bold and heavy beer. .

Cost: No Cover, Pours around $6
