SPRING-FLING-A-LING Homebrew Contest. The contest will be held on Saturday, May 11 at 7 p.m. at Summits Wayside Tavern in Snellville.
There will be three categories: IPA, HEFEWEIZEN, and PEOPLE’S CHOICE. So if you’re a home brewer and think you have what it takes, get that beer bottled. Contest is open to all home brewers near and far. The IPA’s and HEFEWEIZEN’s will be judged Saturday afternoon before the event by a panel of selected judges. The PEOPLE’S CHOICE will be decided the night of the event by the crowd. It’s what the crowd thought was the best beer at the event. PEOPLE’S CHOICE can be any style of beer.
If you’re just a lover of beer, make sure you come and try some of Georgia’s best home brews. The cost is $10 to come and taste some of the best beers around. All money collected from the event will be donated to the Georgia Transplant Foundation.
The Georgia Transplant Foundation (GTF) is unique in the national transplant community. Founded in August 1992 by Tommy Smith, a kidney transplant recipient, GTF is focused on providing both financial and educational assistance during a time that is often overwhelming for those undergoing or waiting for a transplant.
Today, Georgia Transplant Foundation is the primary source for transplant patient assistance and support for all solid organ transplantation in the entire state of Georgia.
HOME BREWERS - If you’re planning on entering this years event, which I hope you are, you’ll need to deliver your non-labeled bottles of beer to Summits Wayside Tavern on either Thursday (May 9) between 7-9 p.m. or Friday (May 10th) between 7-10 p.m. You’ll need to bring two bottles of each of your entries for the judges. If you can’t make it on either Thursday or Friday, email us and we’ll figure something out.
