Founded in 1987 by brothers Russ and Jim Klisch, Lakefront was one of the midwest’s first craft breweries. The brewery has a long list of "firsts" in its long list of accomplishments. Lakefront Brewery was the first in the U.S. to bottle fruit beer since prohibition was repealed, starting in 1992 with the it’s seasonal Lakefront Cherry Lager. The brewery produced the first certified organic beer to be bottled in the U.S. starting in 1996 with their Lakefront Organic E.S.B. President, owner, founder and proud Wisconsinite Russ Klisch started a partnership with Wisconsin farmers to grow organic hops in his home state. The brewery is also credited for creating the first gluten-free beer in America, New Grist.
Stop in and celebrate 25 years of Lakefront Brewery along with the two men that started it all, Russ and Jim Klisch. We’ll have eight lakefront drafts and two very special firkins selected by Russ himself. Don’t miss this celebration of this Midwestern brewing icon.
