Beauís Oktoberfest 2013
Taking place October 4th and 5th at the Vankleek Hill Fairgrounds, this yearís festival will include an assortment of Beauís beers on tap Ė 9 in all, including a number of new and exclusive beers. Also happening this year for the first time will be a special homebrew competition presented by The Members of Barleyment, where attendees can sample and vote on their favourite homebrews for a Peopleís Choice Award.
More than 20 restaurants from across Ontario will be on hand to serve Bavarian- and locally-inspired food, and musical entertainment will include traditional Bavarian music by Canadaís Polka King Walter Ostanek and evening concerts from Sloan, Kathleen Edwards, The Sadies, The Mahones, Young Rival, The Balconies, and Rich Aucoin.
As a spin-off of the event, a selection of four Beauís Oktoberfest beers Ė Oktobock, Smokiní Banana Peels Rauch Weissbier, Mr. Hyde Roggenbier Meets RyePA, and Two Weeksí Notice German Porter Ė will be released in a mixed pack at select LCBO outlets and the Beauís retail store & delivery service in early September.
Early bird tickets for Beauís Oktoberfest 2013 will go on sale on Thursday August 8th, with single day tickets priced at $22 and two-day passes at $38. Youth tickets for 18 and under are $5, and round-trip shuttle buses from Ottawa, Montreal and Cornwall are available for an additional $15. As always, a portion of the event proceeds will go to local charities, with this yearís recipients list including United Way Ottawa, Canadian Canoe Foundation, Kiva, Just Food, and the Vankleek Hill Agricultural Society.
