Melissa Cole is an author, journalist and sommALEier who is living the beer dream. Her debut book Let Me Tell You About Beer has been hailed as the perfect beginner’s guide to beer, and has now been launched in the UK and internationally. Melissa is an ardent advocate of matching beer with food and her work with leading chefs and through her own website, has seen amateur cooks and restaurants alike elevate beer to its rightful place – as the perfect partner to simple suppers or high-end cuisine.

Des de Moor is a beer writer and international beer judge based in London. He published his first book in 2011, The CAMRA Guide to London’s Best Beer, Pubs and Bars, a comprehensive guide to one of the world’s great beer drinking cities and a timely celebration of the current renaissance of London brewing. Des believes beer is an artefact of human society, not a simple intoxicant but capable of being enjoyed and appreciated in the same way as all the other finer things in life, and should be celebrated as such. You can find more of Des writings and opinions on his popular site http://desdemoor.co.uk .

Sophie Atherton was the first woman in the UK to be accredited as a Beer Sommelier by the IBD’s (Institute of Brewing & Distilling) Beer Academy. She is also a journalist and broadcaster who uses her 25 years experience as an ale drinker to write about beer for national newspapers including The Guardian and The Sunday Telegraph, in magazines, such as CAMRA’s BEER and on her own blog A FemAle View.
