As mentioned frequently getting to and from Merton by public transport isn’t easy. I would suggest using the Travel Line link below you can also get the travel line app for android and apple devices. However there is one direct bus on Sat 1st March from Oxford to Merton, this leaves at 13:30 stop C5 St Giles take the Thames Travel T94 arrives in Merton 14:07 outside the Plough pub (sadly closed and almost opposite my house) the village hall is a 2-3 min walk back along the road from here, look for Beer Festival signs. Alternatively you can go via train on the small branch line from Oxford to Bicester Town or alternatively the more frequent route is the Chiltern Line trains on the London Marylebone to Birmingham route which stop frequently at Bicester North. You will need to get a Taxi from either of these stations to Merton it is about 6 miles from Bicester North to Merton so reckon on about £10 by taxi the journey from Bicester Town station is shorter about 4.5 miles but you will probably have to walk back into town about 1/2 a mile I would guess about £8 from here. I have also put Chiltern Railways and Trainline links below as I know that there have been issues on travel between Banbury and Leamington Spa due to a landslip, so it is best to use for the most up to date info.

Assuming all goes well and trains work out, I will be making my debut at this festival at 11.00 on Saturday morning.
