The Ridgeway Cask Takeover – 5 Fresh Firkins from Oxfordshire, England on Tap!

Let’s take a minute (or, rather, a night) to acknowledge and honor our friends from across the pond that, in cooler months, send us authentic, subtly-nuanced real cask ale. Peter Scholey, the last brewmaster at England’s famous Brakspear Brewery, began brewing his line of Ridgeway beers back in 2002, and his classic English cask ales have long been among our absolute favorites when it comes to real ale available stateside. Unfortunately, getting our hands on these scarce firkins is exceedingly difficult, so--when we do manage to source them--we like to hand over all 5 of our cask engine lines to these stunning British brew.

This coming Monday, we will tap 5 unique Ridgeway casks Ridgeway IPA, brewed with Maris Otter malt & whole-cone English hops; Bad King John, a black-as-night Dry Stout; Ivanhoe, a classic malt-driven Extra Special Bitter; Querkus, a Smoked Porter utilizing peat-smoked malt in the brew and then conditioned on old French oak barrel chips; Oxfordshire Blue, a crisp Extra Special Bitter with whole-cone English hops showing delicate Muscadet aromas. These are likely some of the last authentic English cask ales we will receive until next autumn, so be sure to come on out and drink real ale this Monday night!

There is no admission for this event and all Ridgeway casks will be priced individually by the glass and in 4 oz. pours.
