Craft Beverage Immersion Excursion
Join us in Portland, Oregon for three days spent networking with your classmates, touring local craft breweries and pubs, visiting malt and hops processing facilities, local distilleries, and other ancillary craft beverage businesses. In addition to tours and tastings, there will be various industry speakers and experiential learning opportunities.

Craft Beverage Immersion Excursion is May 23-25, 2014. The cost covers transportation to and from PSU campus to the various locations we will be visiting, tastings, materials, guest speakers, and other costs associated with the educational aspects of this event. It does not cover travel to and from Portland, hotel or all meals.
Friday, May 23
5:30 PM Meet at the CEPE offices
5:45 PM Transportation to local brewery
6-10 PM Welcome reception, tasting and dinner; Q&A with John Harris owner/brewmaster of Ecliptic
10 PM Bus will depart back to CEPE offices
Saturday, May 24
Meet at CEPE offices; Continental breakfast provided
10AM-12PM Beverage Ingredient Experts: Panel and Q&A
Panel will include one brewery expert, one distillery expert, one cidery expert and one legal expert
12 PM Bus departs CEPE offices to Hawthorne food cart pod
Lunch on your own - discover Portland’s Food Cart Culture
1-5 PM Visit Farm-style, Belgium and Barrel Aged Breweries
5:30 PM Bus back to CEPE offices, or join us for a casual evening
6 PM Appetizers at a local brewery. Dinner available for purchase.
Sunday, May 25
9:30 AM Meet at CEPE offices; Continental breakfast provided
10 AM Depart CEPE offices for Hop Farm tour
12-3:30 PM Return to Portland; Visit distillery row and a cidery. Lunch available for purchase.
3:30-5 PM Wrap party at local brewery/brewpub
This weekend will involve a lot of walking; Please bring comfortable shoes. Weather in Portland is unpredictable – we recommend an umbrella and sunglasses.
The CEPE offices are located at 1500 SW 1st Avenue, Suite 100B, Portland, OR 97201 between SW Market and SW Clay Streets.
The closest hotel to our offices is the Portland Marriott Downtown Waterfront, located across the street, but there are several others nearby. The Hotel Modera is a 5 block walk up Market St. There is also a Hilton several blocks away, slightly closer to the downtown retail and shopping areas.
We will provide walking maps of Portland, along with a Tri-Met (transit) schedule and passes (Fri-Sun) for easy access to the city, should you wish to explore on your own.Cost:
