Hopfen & Malz and the Berlin Craft Beer group present a very special tasting in Berlin in January: Rauchbier.

12 Smoked Beers will be tasted on one Sunday afternoon.

These beers, traditional to Upper Franconia, have long been neglected or treated as a curiosity, although the use of smoked malt goes back for centuries.

With a renewed interest in beer styles, Hopfen & Malz and Berlin Craft Beer wish to present some beers from this authentic German brewing heritage. What better way to explore smoked beers than to try a broad flight of 12 beers with other beer enthusiasts from around the world.

The Vagabund Brewery have kindly allowed us to host this event in their bar.


Tasting Flight:
The tasting list of beers is being finalised (depends upon availability), but will include:

- 2 x Hell lagers with
- 4 x darker Märzen-style Rauchbier
- 2 x Rauchbock
- 1 x beer brewed with peated whiskey malt
- 1 x Polish beer brewed with smoked malt
- 1 x new craft beer with smoked malt
- 1 x Schlenkerla Eiche

€25 entry for a tasting of all 12 beers.

Smoked snacks will be supplied.
