Anacortes Bier on the Pier

Details

The cries of cheers once again herald the arrival of Anacortes Bier on the Pier, a two-day extravaganza of bier, food and music. Bring your thirst for beer, leave room for brats and enjoy the smorgasbord of all the tasty foods located in two festival food tents on the pier.

Come spend the weekend in beautiful Anacortes – 2015 will offer guests the opportunity to enter the event beginning Friday evening from 5pm-9pm, and return on Saturday 12pm-6pm to finish the tour they embarked upon the night before.

The event will be held at the Historic Port Warehouse located at 1st & Commercial, in downtown Anacortes allowing for spectacular views overlooking the Guemes Channel and Mount Baker.

Set amidst the funky warehouse charm of Anacortes’ historic port building will be no fewer than 30 Washington State breweries, sharing their finest beers, lagers, stouts and ales as guests work their way through the six tasting tickets that come with each day’s pass.

Participating brewers are favorites from up and down the Sound, Bellingham to Olympia. It doesn’t get more fresh and local,” says festival committee chair, Rick Star, himself a brewer, and owner of Rockfish Grill. “They’re excited to pour their best brews, and share brewing insights with festival-goers.” Products from most breweries, Star notes, are distributed in the area, but some self-distributors see the festival as a valuable chance to impress tasters and expand their customer base.

When it’s time to take a break and clear your palate, head out onto the pier for delicious food, to talk shop with fellow aficionados, debate your vote in the People’s Choice competition, or stomp and swing to live tunes.

“People at last year’s festival told us they love Anacortes – the whole vibe,” says Star. “They loved the great beers, the historic Port of Anacortes rustic transit shed warehouse and the setting right on the water. It’s hard to beat an afternoon or evening of beer and fun overlooking Guemes Channel and the San Juan Islands with cool boats cruising by.”
