On Saturday, August 13th, The Bier Stein Bottleshop & Pub will occupy its own parking lot for the inaugural Bier Stein Invitational Beer Fest. This year will feature 32 Oregon breweries pouring two unique beers each. The Stein is working closely with the breweries to acquire a range of beers and styles outside of the breweries’ flagship brands. That means seasonal, one-off, cellared, barrel-aged, and “altered” beers will be the name of the game. A brewer or representative of nearly every brewery will be pouring beer from noon until 3pm.
Two food carts, Da Nang Vietnamese Eatery and Hot Mama’s Wings, will be serving food throughout the day, and the Bier Stein’s kitchen and bar will be in operation as usual. Pedal Power Music will provide its solar generator for two local bands: acoustic duo Soup Kitchen, and funk fusion band Soul Vibrator. There will be plenty of tent space for shade.
The festival goes from noon to 8pm. It is a 21+ event and CASH ONLY. $20 entry fee on the day of the festival (no advance tix) includes a full-sized glass and 5 taster tickets. Pours will be 4oz. and range from 1-4 tickets per pour.
A call for volunteers has been issued for OLCC Servers Permit holders for pouring shifts from 3-6pm and 6-8pm, with perks for all volunteers. Get involved and updated at the event’s Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/events/142264739536984/
