Not much of an event, more a wander round some of Derby’s better pubs. There’s been a few changes in the city of late - new breweries like Black Iris and Shiny, Brampton taking on the Brunswick, ’craft keg’ starting to appear.

Meet at the Alex Hotel, Saturday 18th May, 11am. End at the Furnace Inn (home of Shiny Brewery) where there may be some surprises in bottle and keg.

Always good to see faces old and new.

I cannot make it I’m afraid as we’ll be in Denmark. However anyone who hasn’t been should really consider a ’A Derby Bimble’ in the excellent company of Simon. Have a good bimble!

If I wasn’t stretched between work and family commitments I’d be down that weekend. As I’ve said before elsewhere haddonsman is quite the beer ambassador. Kudos to the man.

my plans to go to Budapest have been thwarted by airlines wanting to charge double figures (EACH WAY!), so I may risk a nosebleed and cross the north/south divide...

Nice one guys! Should be a fair few scoops and possibly a brewery tour. When I say brewery tour, I mean ’poke your head in a shed’.

if anyone’s coming up and staying over I may well be able to offer a Sheffield Bimble the next day. Don’t let Simon show you round Sheffield, you’ll never get off platform 1 at the station...

We now have an Official Crisp Partner (Salty Dog) and an Official Salami Partner (Serious Pig). And, hopefully, a pinata donkey.

And some rare beer from a Derbyshire brewer. If said Derbyshire brewer remembers to bring it with him.

Having never done of these things before do people usually bring bottles? I’m sure I can bring a number of things unlikely to have ever been opened in Derby before :)
