Boulevard Collaboration No. 3 is at Joy. At first, I was like, "meh," but then I saw that it was a collaboration with Pretty Things. That loosened my wallet.

Yeah, I caved on a bottle of that one too, since Boulevard sometimes knocks one deep into right field (and the barrel Imperial Stout is a home run, mos def). Like the prior two collabs, though, Iím not excited about the style of this one. A strong ale...meh. Why not a Schwarzbier (not Imperialized!)? Or a Belgian abbey single (not Imperialized!)? Or a Kellerbier (not Imperialized!)? Thereís plenty of cool styles that hardly anyone in this country is doing, much less doing really well.

And whatís the deal with calling the experimental/special line "Smokestack" and yet after 15 recipes we still havenít seen a single Rauchbier??? Come on, give us a balls-out smoked lager!

Not a bad beer, but a definite waste of 13 bucks.

Oxymoron 1:1
Little plug here. Grimm Brothers Brewhouse will be releasing Big Bad Wolf on 8/29. This is a Sticke Alt beer (basically an imperial alt) coming in around 8.5%ish.

On tap we currently have Fraulein Peg (brown ale), Kleine Elsa (kolsch), Grandfather Grimm (foreign export stout), Dragon Slayer (rauchbier), and Grimminer Weisse (berlinerweisse)

Look for Farmerís Daughter (oktoberfest) come out at the end of Sept.

In case anyone is interested, Freshcraft has a keg of St. Bernardus Tokyo (typically only available at the cafe in Tokyo, apparently).
