On the positive side, stories like the Westvleteren one really help the craft beer industry. New memberships to ratebeer.com have really been on the up swing ever since the story came out. Having a beer that will always be rare, that nobody is ever going to get rich off of and has a rich history as ratebeer.com’s number one beer will serve us well. Even if I never get to drink another Westy, it will be a special beer to me.

I am myself someone who learned about this site when newspapers reported about Westvleteren winning the contest. It’s a very interesting website, and I’ve been visiting it regularly since.
