Haven’t really checked for stores when I was in Villach, but make sure to visit this place: http://www.ratebeer.com/p/die-gartenrast-radenthein/22954/
The owner/beersommelier is really nice and friendly, likes to chat about beer and if you’re lucky... Make sure to bring him a nice beer, I am sure he’ll like that. Beautiful suroundings, relaxing atmosphere and even though if you’ve had them all, he has a good beer card, so you won’t be bored! Very good food and he sells beers to go...
Cheers!

Tipopils is brewed in Limido Comasco, close to Como Lake (where George Clooney owns some houses ), so quite far from the cities you said.
Here you can find a map where to buy their beers:

http://www.birrificio.it/produzione/map.html

The closest to you seems in Castelfranco Veneto, about 90 km far from Caorle.
But in that region, Friuli Venezia Giulia, you will find for sure a good local craft beer named Birra di Meni (they produce it in Cavasso Nuovo, about 45 km far from Udine).

I’ve added and rated all the places I went to in the region. Here’s a beer map I found and one I got from fiulijn when I lived there: http://beermapping.com/maps/maps.php?m=italy#lat=undefined&lng=undefined&z=9 https://maps.google.com/maps/ms?hl=en&ie=UTF8&msa=0&msid=102520753143882719188.000434d150069fd347370&z=6
Hope they help...Shawn

Villach, drink lots of Steigl Grapefruit radler. And there’s a germanic beer restaurant there. nice spot.

that part of italy, is the wrong corner. it’s very germanic there. go for a train ride to Birrificio Italiano and sit and chill.

Correct, not a lot of action. There is one unrated store near Palmanova; the town itself is a really interested walled medieval fortress town, worth a look.
It’s not too far of a drive into the Dolomite mountains, where you find lots of picturesque little villages and tons of scenery. I used to live in Sacile, where many of the doges from Venice built palazzi. Short drive from there to Polcenigo, then to Valscura brewery tap and some other semi-interesting little pubs and breweries in nice rural mountain settings.

Steigl grapefruit radler sounds tempting. Might skip Austria completely. How about The beer store scene there? Is it like in Germany with getrankemarkts connected to The supermarkets?

Got a bunch of supermarkets in the Villach area with a decent selection! Quite a lot to choose from specially when you’re used to Dutch supermarkets!

Mads, sorry for not replying your msg, came in at the wrong moment.

Tipopils
As Graziano mentions, the brewery website has a map.
Consider that some places, like the one just above Venice (Farro distribuzione) are distributors; you can contact them or we can help and ask which pubs have the beer.
Also check the distrib map here, there are a couple of places in that area:
http://www.ratebeer.com/beer/distribution/11493/
The best Tipopils is on draught at the "brewery", followed by draught in other places where it may be less fresh, and only get the bottles as last chance if you don’t find the draught.
I strongly recommend a visit to the brewpub, one of the best places in Italy for beer and food; also the Milan area offers today a very large craft beer scenario; if you can make a 2 days detour to Milan and Birrificio Italiano, I can help with the planning.

Nord-Est
(this is how we call that area, the Italian North-East)
From a beer perspective I think that there is enough action; but there are not many RBerians, therefore not much coverage.
Udine is in the region called Friuli; check here for a list of microbreweries and brewpubs; this website is usually more up-to-date than RB:
http://www.microbirrifici.org/Friuli_Venezia_Giulia_birrifici_regione.aspx
Venice and Veneto region:
http://www.microbirrifici.org/Veneto_birrifici_regione.aspx
Quickly looking at the list, I would recommend to try the 32 Via Dei Birrai (75cl bottles); they used to brew very well made Belgian styles.
I also enjoyed drinking and eating at Vecchio Birraio (a brewpub).

Map the breweries that are listed in the links above, make your own Google map, then depending on where you will be, check the websites of the breweries that are closer to the area; often their website includes a list of bars and shops with their beers; and in those bars and shops you will find even more craft beers...

In Italy obviously there are many wine shops (enoteca); in recent years these places started to sell some craft beer too, usually just from one or two breweries.
So, if you are walking in the town and you see a wine shop, but also a nice grocery or deli shop, give it a try and you can find something new.

You can make a daytrip to Bologna (150km from Venice).
Besides the cultural importance of the town, there are a couple of good beershops.
Or you can make a daytrip to San Marino: new country tick both for Beers and Places ;-)

I’ll ask dorqui to check this thread, he may have some other suggestion; he lives "almost" there.
