Do serve food, if only snacks. Have a dump bucket so people don’t feel obliged to finish everything. Rinse glasses at least occasionally.

Do whatever you want at the time. Just keep getting together and trying stuff. Try and learn something about the beers you’re drinking that night--the history of the style, or the brewer(ies) involved, and so on.

If you can, meet occasionally at good pubs, especially for their cask nights, guest nights, special releases, and stuff like that. If you can get 10 or so people, get tours at local breweries. Have people bring homebrew.

Relax and have fun. cheers!

Dump buckets and rinse pitchers are a necessity. Rotate letting a different person put the beers in flight order.

We have one rule, if you bring any BMC you are forever banned from the tasting.

Dubbercody 214:2 It depends on the ’beer geek’ status of your group. If it’s like my group and a few geeks, but mostly n00bs, eager but not really knowledgeable. Themes work for us.

We have a theme....usually seasonal. But there aren’t hard and fast rules...you bring something good if you can’t find "insert theme here".

We’ve done an Irish theme for March. (So the bastardization equals almost anything from the UK)

Basically, puzzl, beastiefan, EDA, dickinsonbeer and a few other people say, "Hey I got this beer and am around. Let’s drink it." Then others say "Cool, lets set up a day" and they also bring some good stuff. Then we drink it and drink some more afterwards to sober up. 3/15/2008 10:52:50 PM
