Oh, and honestly: Stay clear of the Berliner Weisse Mit Schuß. I tried the Waldmeister variety and it was absolutely horrific.

I still thought this was worse.

You’re a brave, brave man

The waitress that brought me the woodruff variety in the bar, took it first to the one girl in our company at that moment, and when she found out it was actually for me, she gave me the ’you’re a sissy’ frown. Painful.

My kicks is gettin’ ticks... Bought it along with about 30 other bottles of exclusive/obscure/strange beer at a supermarket, so no frowns for me. Not that I mind though; people usually give me weird looks when I cup my hands around a too-cold-served strong ale to warm it up, or dip my nose into a wine-shaped glass of imperial stout before I scribble notes on a piece of paper or my cell phone. I’m used to it.

My kick is trying broadening my spectrum, trying different beers and deciding which brews/brewers are worth following.. Decided easily that, even besides the frown, the raspberry one missed was not going to broaden my spectrum in any enjoyable way

And all in all the world would be a much better place if it were to be frowned upon when too-cold-served strong ales are not cupped to make them warmer.

I think we’re on the same page here.

Thanks for the info. I just saw this now, so I didn’t go there, but I came across some of the BraufactuM at a Getränkemarkt close to KaDeWe and bought about half of them.

Yeah, forgot to thank you for the same. I now have a total of 5 Eisbocks in my cellar, along with quite a few other goodies. Cheers!
