But the Blackmiths Arms was carrying a top notch beer range - and wider than I’ve ever seen in the Land Of Liberty - when I visited recently. The pub itself is no great shakes though.

For instance, if you go to http://www.ratebeer.com/places/england/hertfordshire/240/84/ the list is rather different to the one you get if you go to http://www.ratebeer.com/places/states/84/
