That was true here with King Henry. No retail distribution. All to bars and restaurants. That means mark up in price, of course, but it also means some people who don’t do the bar scene have no chance of trying the beer.
You just needed to find one that let you do carry out, but the problem was paying $22.99 in store, and paying $35-40 from the bar.

This is not true. It’s not legal in many states for the brewer to determine where the beer goes, hence the three tier system. Plenty of the aforementioned beers made it to retail stores, it’s just that the majority stayed closer to home (Chicago).

Now, I am not complaining, but they also sold Baller Stout at the anniversary party at $50 and said nobody would see it again, sure enough it resurfaced at DLD for $35 a pop.....go figure. This is a rarity, and considering they have had Wheat Whiskey BC on the Goose Island page since December, and nobody knows any more info on it, makes me think it wont be year-round. My 2 cents
I have NO bottles of Dark Lord...

Also, some beers get the high ratings due to hype, but a lot of them actually are that good. So Bourbon County being more available should not hurt its ratings, or at least not much.

I believe Baller Stout was $30, was it not?
I welcome just getting more than 1 bottle over here in Metro Detroit. I highly doubt they can meet the demands of this beer in the current state of craft beer.

But there’s only a 50% chance of that.
