College Football Live’s 2012 preseason top 25:

1. USC
2. LSU
3. Alabama
4. Oregon
5. Oklahoma
6. Georgia
7. Florida St.
8. South Carolina
9. Arkansas
10. Michigan
11. West Virginia
12. Michigan State
13. Kansas State
14. TCU
15. Stanford
16. Wisconsin
17. Nebraska
18. Clemson
19. Virginia Tech
20. Ohio State
21. Oklahoma State
22. Texas
23. Boise State
24. Notre Dame
25. Florida

Stanford and Boise, are we rating them on last year? USCe is much too high. Arky is a dumpster fire thanks to tomato face (zero defense, too). Wisconsin and Sparty have no QB. Finally, Auburn is not in the top 25? LOL... ok, we’ll see.

Why do you say USC is too high... On defense we lost Ingram (replaced by Clowney), Gilmore (has had a few break downs on defense and we have multiple young DBs to take his place), Robertson (we are stacked at DT), and Allen (hardest to replace the jets got the steal of the draft getting him at the end of the 7th round, he is going to be a stud in the NFL).

Our defense will be more aggressive with blitzing and looked damn good with the new D-coordinator during the bowl game.

On Offense we lose Jeffery, (no one will replace him he was an amazing talent, I can’t believe he dropped to the 2nd round because of the weight issues and being "slow" he ran a 4.4 40) and rock watkins (our o-line is the position we have been recruiting the hardest lately)

Add to the fact we get Lattimore and Carson our #1 and 2 backs back, and don’t have to deal with an unraveling Garcia for half a season and we are a better team this year.

P.S. we ended last season ranked 9th.

Damn right.

Perennial underachievers from WVA talking trash? Please. Too many shared championships makes you think beating Clemson is some kind of feat. Good thing the new BIG E will have a championship game soon UCF can win the new, more powerful, conference outright while WVA continues their underachieving ways against some actual competition. You tucked your yellow tails just in time to avoid the new BIG E!

I just want a UCF win in week 2.

Keep hoping.

Though, OSU’s Top 25 ranking is a joke. They stunk it up last year, have an entirely new staff, lost more players, can’t play in the post season, and they’re still in the Top 25? Please.

What we did was say "yes, please" to the $20 million per that the Big XXII offers as opposed to the $9 million per year that the Big East paid out... and WVU’s payout was always more than the other schools because of our football and basketball post season success. I wonder what UCF will get from the Big East each year now that its pathetic football pot is even more watered down.

Oh, and regarding all the other garbage in your above post. Even you aren’t buying into that load of steaming crap. It shows. Your heart’s just not in it anymore.

WVU = Orange, Fiesta and Sugar Bowl champs, baby!

UCF = We won a squeaker in the Liberty Bowl once against an SEC team that had a big-time "down year."

I’m surprised to see Auburn NOT listed in the Top 25. Their recruiting has been too good over the past three years for there not to be some talented kids ready to play. It’s probably that SEC West schedule that has the pollsters all gun shy.

I also think South Carolina is ranked too high, but I’m a Spurrier guy, so I won’t sling shit here.

I think West Virginia is right where they should be... maybe a couple notches too high since they’ll be playing against unfamiliar teams of a higher caliber in unfamiliar stadiums filled with unfamiliar fanbases. I see us losing three conference games, but then earning that #11 or Top Ten spot back after a bowl victory.

I’m not surprised that UCF isn’t included on the list, because they never are and never should be. They have no shot at ever beating Ohio State. If UCF were ever going to beat Ohio State, it would’ve been last year at the beginning of the season because Ohio State was without several key players and without a real head coach. The Buckeyes were a clueless program in total disarray. However, UCF also sucked donkey nuts last year, so they would have lost in a 6-3 nail-biter, because they have no talent and George O’Leary is their coach.

Yes, you lost 4 studs to the NFL on D. I believe you also graduated both kickers, which is significant. I say too high because I think your offense will really struggle. Shaw has a lot to prove about throwing the ball down field, your O-Line is the weakest unit on the team, and your world beater stud RB is coming back from a knee tear (I do hope he is ok, kid is fun to watch). In October you’ll drop some games.

Our O-line wasn’t very weak last year, and should just keep getting stronger. Shawn Elliot, our O-line coach is a helluva a coach and will be here for the 3rd year. This is the first time we have had an O-line coach for more than 2 years since spurrier has been here, so getting some continuety there definitely will help. Our kickers sucked last year, we actually recruited one so hopefully that will help out our kicking game.

As for Lattimore, these days a first ACL tear isn’t a big deal almost everyone comes back and is normal, I really doubt we see much of a drop off.

And I already explained the D thing.

Oh, I think you’ll be good on the defensive side. Let me put it this way... #8 would be the highest finish ever for you guys since joining the SEC. Do you really believe you are about to field the best Gamecock team you’ve ever seen? Carnell Williams was never the same and I can’t think of a better comparison to Lattimore.
