For now, though, the brewery will be focused on making its first product, an India Pale Ale.
"It’ll be more aromatic and flavorful than the Bud Light and Miller Light that are popular here," Bicker said. "There’s a lot to say and I can talk about it for hours."
At first the brewery’s products will be available only in kegs and on draft, but Bicker said he has already been approached by all but one of the local taverns and restaurants with liquor licenses. After 6-8 months, the beer will be available in cans for distribution.
Bicker has been home brewing with friends for several years while he worked full-time as a family practice physician assistant, but said he is committed to this operation.
Within the first year of operation he plans to hire a trained brewmaster, and expects the business to employee four to five people within three years.
The fest itself is cool, I wish they were able to get the other KS breweries to participate (or can in the future). Lb should be there, hopefully Wichita eventually, and maybe even Mo’s and Hank is Wiser.
