I obsessed a little about some of Ryan’s beers this weekend...

That’s all I’ll say

Power Windows is better 8 perfect tracks, Hold Your Fire is let down by the last 2 songs, even though I think tracks like Prime Mover, Time Stand Still and Open Letter are brilliant.

Power Windows and Hold Your Fire are fine choices gentlemen but when viewed sensibly and with taste - quite wrong. Clearly Moving Pictures and Signals are a superior breed and Geddy still played the Rickenbacker on those well.

Tom Sawyer and Limelight are clearly excellent songs from "Pictures," but again not sure about the last 3 songs from that album, all a bit bleak and dark. "Signals" too has some great highlights, Subdivisions and New World Man, but isn’t it a touch twee and noodly and geeky about technology and science overall? I suppose I like the slightly more political edge to Power Windows.

Noodly and geeky? Rush? Surely some mistake here? Seriously the last 3 tracks on Pictures are magnificent. ’Camera Eye’ is a joy - all about living in the moment - not dark at all. Okay ’Witchhunt’ is dark but also quite politcal and I find ’Vital Signs’ quirky more than dark. But we are splitting hairs - they are 4 fine albums and of course there are plenty of other good ones as well ’Vapor Trails’ coming readily to mind. I don’t often play ’Counterparts’ or ’Presto’ though.

Jesus Christ how did this thread ever become people arguing about Rush for god sakes.
