Does anyone else think barrel aged ipas are stupid?

Message Countbeer beers 6586 º places 259 º 14:29 Sat 8/16/2014 Brett IPA’s tend to be contradictious considering the two important ingredients, but most of the times, they turn out to be very tasty. Yet a good Barrel Aged IPA is even more rare than Yellow Bus!

But then again the same could be said for adding cara malt to IPA.

Message jtclockwork beers 21132 º places 554 º 14:38 Sat 8/16/2014 Depends on the beer. I’ve had some I thought were good though tasted more like a hoppy barleywine or American strong than an IPA. Overall, bad if you want a hoppy beer, but can be okay as something different if done well enough.
