Yeah 20% adjunct is way low for a proper malt liquor. Get yourself into at least the 40% range (use corn sugar for the balance if you want to limit the size of your cereal mash).

I’ve had 54 of them so why not? That boring session brown ale tastes like Westy 12 after a Colt 45 I’ll tell ya.

The only malt liquor I might still consider drinking is Haffenreffer (sp?) Private Stock. When it comes to malt liquor, it ain’t about the journey, it’s about the destination. I’ve been out of that phase for a very long time. I actually like to taste my beer, and that’s pretty easy to do with the great variety of stuff we have nowadays.

To your recipe, pour a couple bottles of ALDI corn syrup into the boil kettle and switch to a designated high-grav or turbo yeast and all’s good.

Software nerds can tell you it’s actually Olde Fortran, a tip-of-the-hat to the programming language FORTRAN/Fortran (short version of Forumula Translator/Translating System). But renaming it would avoid lawsuits, I guess.
