I’m glad I saw this thread - I was just about to post a similar question. I, too, have a hefe in primary. Pitched on Wed night. Thurs morning - nothing. Came home last night to find that sticky dried froth all over the airlock and no cap. It had blown off.
Cleaned it up and replaced. Woke up this morning. Even more foam and liquid all over the top of the lid and the airlock cap was blown off again. Never had that happen before - at least I know it’s working!
And glad to know it’s not all that unusual.
