I dont get it. Why hasnt this guy been outed yet? What possible explanation could there be? Not to mention what if theres people that are working a trade with him and will get screwed because...

I don’t get why we are protecting this person either, I would certainly want to know to at least be skeptical of any trades with them, and if there is some miraculous reason that they are innocence, why wouldn’t they just come out of the woodwork and explain themselves here?
Not outing the person bothers me just as much if not more than what the person did at this point to be honest.. why tell us to be careful if you don’t tell us the person that is in some way involved? I see people get bitched out for much smaller infractions and then there be explanations that may or may not make sense or be true..but thats is left to us to decide for ourselves.. why protect this guy? If he really did nothing wrong then he shouldn’t have a problem explaining himself, and at this point its not his decision, its your’s since you are the one who got screwed here...

might i also add that if you are protecting the person because you trust them from previous trades/encounters or whatever, and you honestly believe they got them straight from the source on the release day, why wouldn’t they come out on the boards and announce to the community that there are fakes out there? why should you have been the one having to do it? makes NO sense.. none..
If I went to captain lawrence and got bum bottles of cuvee de castleton(lets forget that i would be intelligent enough to realize this before sending them in a trade for arguments sake here).. then proceeded to trade them and have it come back that there was a question of the validity of the bottles.. I would come out on the boards to discuss it because i would want to protect my good name and also try to figure out what the hell happened...
thats the kinda guy i am.. but then again I would also out the person that did it to me to really help protect others, so whatever

I’ve asked the trader to post a comment on the thread. He has only done a few trades and none recently (besides with me). I doubt he’s setting up other trades with fake bottles.

I agree wholeheartedly, eclectic, and don’t think anyone really wants to think that this could happen to them in the future - people too often trade a ton of great beer for rare Alesmith brews, as Andrew may have done.
The very first thing that the person who recieved the beer from him should do is send it back.
