Fake Westvleteren 12?

Message andrewdoddbeer 07:53 Wed 4/9/2014 I bought a bottle of Westy 12, but am worried that it might be fake. It has an all yellow cap, rather than a black and gold cap I’ve seen in photos. I know there is some variation in the glass bottles, and this one does have the "Trappistenbier" collar around the neck, so that’s a little comforting. Is the cap being a different color something to be concerned about? Message StefanSD beers 2449 º places 57 º 08:00 Wed 4/9/2014 I’m pretty sure that is a legit cap. I’ve had a couple of those in the past. I think that the black design was new for the Westy Bricks.

Message andrewdoddbeer 08:20 Wed 4/9/2014 Cool, thanks all for the input. I figured it was probably legit, I mean who’s really gonna to fake a beer? Can’t possibly be profitable. With wine, the stuff that gets faked is several thousand dollars a bottle usually, people don’t even mess with $100 per bottle stuff. However, once you faked the cap all you’d have to do is drink a lot of Westmalle and refill bottles, and re-cap. No label. Made me nervous. Sounds like it’s legit. Thanks again! Cheers, Andrew
