If you look at who is backing this, we see it is merely another example of the nanny state and government controlling every aspect of our lives. 10/18/2009 9:57:42 AM

The results were stark. Between 1991 and 2001, 40 deaths had occurred in the state due to vibrio vulnificus. Once post-harvest processing was required, the number of deaths dropped to zero

40 people dead in 10 years? yeah, thats a real serious problem that needed looking into immediately, good things thats been resolved!

Similarly, I just go to the waterfront & get them from my buddy, who’s been a waterman all his life. Nothing like fresh Chesapeake Bay oysters. thumbs up

I’m shucking and eating some right now. Living on the edge.

To be fair, the Gulf is not squeaky clean.

But yeah - to outlaw things that kill 4+ people a year would cost us a lot of fun things.

You live in CA, there has been a ban on live Gulf oysters there since 2003. How/why is this important to you other than trolling in the beer forums?

Just do what people who like Cuban cigars, weed, being married if homosexual and all sorts of other fabric of society-destroying things do and take a vacation to Canada to get your fix. 10/18/2009 10:50:24 AM
