My condolences.

I wouldn’t say that.

I bet if you look at who is backing this, you’ll see heavy lobbying from the Northeast and Northwestern oyster harvesters.

I would say that most oysters from the NE and NW have a better taste, but the Apalachicola oysters are still fantastic and much cheaper and much more popular in the south, and maybe elsewhere due to the price.

Look at this issue from a quality of food perspective.

Gulf Oysters during the summer months are stressed, slimy, grey globs, when compared to the crisp, briny, fresh fall, winter, and spring oysters of New England and the Pacific Northwest.

I think this is actually a mandate that is in line with appropriate seasonal eating patterns.

It’s news that eating oysters in months without an R in the name is bad for your health?

It’s not a human right for foods to always be in season. More like a bad habit from eating food manufactured by corporate conglomerates and stuffed with preservatives.

The Center for Science in the Public interest is an activist organization with a partisan, political agenda. Check out their "eating green" links.

They cannot be trusted, and contrary to what they would have you believe, it is only a handful of people.

Oh yeah. We’d be SO much safer if we never left our armchairs.

Fuck safety. A plane crashes on your house, that’s it - you are now a grinning pile o’ barbecued rib meat.

Why would you eat raw oysters out of the gulf anyways? West coast oysters are WAY better, followed closely by new england oysters...

All the Hood Canal/Puget Sound, WA and Hog Island, CA oysters are divine. Actually just ordered 2 dozen Kushi oysters for our special tomorrow at the sushi bar.

Gulf coast oysters just sound toxic.shocked
