June 9th. Mark it. I’ve never seen Cigar City, Founders, And Three Floyds at a festival in California, and since brewer’s themselves have to attend, you can be sure they will be trying to out-gun each other.

Yes I want to go. The pre-sale tickets sold out yesterday in one day :( No I have to wait until the 10th I think. Hotels are damn expensive up there too.

BTW, were there any benefits for those who bought presale tickets?

Pretty sure it was just to save a few bucks. Spendy at $50+ fees but I too have never seen a lot of these beers make festivals out here.

The "unlimited pours" I’ve been hearing about does scare me. I wish they would limit it so you don’t get all the Cal Poly frat guys coming out of the woodwork. Still a good reason to make the drive back home from the OC for a weekend with beer and the family.

I wouldn’t worry too much about the Poly frat dudes, though I’m sure some of the Cal Poly Brew Crew and other local beer geeks will be well represented. Matt Brynildson (FW Brewmaster) wanted to make this a brewers’ beer fest by inviting all of his favorite brewers from around the country to come and get together to pour their best beers.

Any background on why the unlimited pours? I rarely, if ever, see unlimited pours at even mid to low end beer festivals. Even the Avila Beach festival is no longer unlimited pours.

Good to know, thanks. I’m going to make an effort to attend!
