There’s a big difference between a 3 star beer and a 4. This Site is like Netflix--can we add a half star? K thanx.

Why? No one is forcing you to tick.

It’s the administrators fault.

I believe the lack of half stars in the tick feature serves as an incentive to rate/disincentive to tick and I do believe it is intentional.
Ticker discrimination if you will.
I imagine the creators/administrators of the site want to encourage the submission of as much info as possible.
Stars don’t provide the meaty info. they would prefer.
More specific ticking system=more tickers=fewer raters=less valuable data.

I believe it is because it would be tough to do on a cellular telephone and Ratebeer has been changing itself quite a bit to be both mobile and PC friendly.

When the topic was brought up in the past however,no mention of this was given by admin. 5 stars was said to be "scientifically" better.
