Not as rare as before.

On a beer with only 87 ratings, I imagine most of that decline (if not all) is because of this guy:

http://www.ratebeer.com/beer/3-fonteinen-framboos-framboise/12514/81835/

... And, calling out other people in the forums is expressly forbidden.

Expressly forbidden? By who? The NFL?

No, it’s not.

Calling out people in the forums happens on a daily basis on this and just about every other website. If Mitch has to "mark ’em like he sees ’em," then so do I. He’s states he has no understanding or appreciation for the style. That’s cool on a hedonistic website, but his rating should be thrown out. Throw out the highest and throw out the lowest. Makes sense, right? Happens every day. It’ll happen to all subjective judgements during the upcoming Summer Olympic Games. No?

Besides, calling someone out in a forum for calling someone out in a forum is calling someone out in a forum.

Oh, and you’ve just been called out in a forum. Welcome to the club. Deal with it!

Are we talking Las Vegas prices or Cambodia prices?

LOL. Good point. There is probably a big difference in price.

This girl I used to work with actually left to become a hooker. When someone pointed out her ads online it was $250 for the hour. So going by that I guess I could score 5 ladies... or 1 Framboos... I would have a hard time rationalizing Framboos in this scenario.

He gives legit reasons for his rating. And, calling out other people in the forums is expressly forbidden.

This isn’t calling someone out. It’s identifying the source of decline of a beer. He didn’t use the guy’s name, nor did he insult him; he was simply identifying the cause of the recent change in the metric. And for the record, I think Ken (who seems to be a very nice guy from the limited interaction I’ve had with him) would see it the same way. You’re teetering on the brink of Alstromdom here...

Are the only people who care about this the people seeking eventual profit from framboos bottles? "this" being the change in statistics, that is.

I doubt it; probably just something to converse about. But what puzzles me is that people would expect it to retain it’s prestigious ratings fresh out of the gate. From what I’ve read, the raspberry aroma and flavor is uber-forward at the moment (for the new bottles). It will get better (more balanced) with some age on it, and then you’ll probably see the ratings increase incrementally until they peak after 3-5 years (maybe more).

I cant see Ken being too bothered by that.

but while were on it,

lets call out this guy as well for his rating of the russian river consecration. It pretty clear he has no understanding or appreciation of sour. Bloody Arsehole

well yeah, he admits it himself...

Can’t say this is a bad beer because way too many people I respect rate it so highly - just another example of me not appreciating or understanding this style at all.

Yeah, my comment wasn’t aimed at anyone in particular. Just the portion of his post that states it’s forbidden to call someone out. Heck, I get called out all the time for my silly user pics. Usually in OT-Lite, but in the main forums often enough. Reading my post again, it comes across as if I was angry. I wasn’t. I was sort of trying to be comical. I should have followed all that with a funny little emoticon. Like this guy...

Uh, yeah, it is.

If I don’t like their food and wine, I’m dinin’ and ditchin’... and per se can suck on it!
