So, I just had Lakefront New Grist and was surprised that a lack of grains really messes up the flavor. It wasnít necessarily bad, just not exciting and good. Heck, I gave a 10 overall but not much elsewhere. U thought it was well-made simply not my thing. Are there any gluten-free beers that rate 3.5 or higher? (i.e., actually good?)

It just always seems to me that when ever I try a gluten free or even a reduced carb beer that there is something inherently missing. Thereís a great gaping hole left where the malt should be.

My friend could always drink Rogue Buckwheat, reduced grains, never messed with his stomach.

La Messagere from Montreal is a buckwheat/rice beer that was actually not bad at all, when I had it. Bottle conditioned and refreshing. Definitely tasted quite ricey, but because I like sake, I didnt mind it.

Damn, sorry to screw the link up. Wrong forum, wrong format. I wish you could go back and edit previous posts in here...

Just saw this,"Finnish brewery Laitilan said it had made the worldís first malt beer that does not contain gluten".

Bardís Tale Dragon Gold is decent, nothing mindblowing, but drinkable. La Messagerie is dag nasty, thoroughly disgusting. If it wasnít so expensive Iíd say to drink it just to see how bad it really is.

I just read that the beer contains a very small amount of gluten, far below the requirement to be classified as gluten-free. (Not sure whose requirement it is.)
