Just noticed Ian has cleared 500 Kent ratings. |
Christ, you lot have *46* counties? |
Nice one. Also noticed he surpassed 12500 ratings!! |
All hail the King of Kent. 500 ratings in 1 county takes some doing. Just a few years back that many beers in Kent would have been unthinkable. |
well done that man, carry on |
Originally posted by imdownthepub Thanks everyone. True, Kent did see a more than doubling of breweries in the county in the past 3 years. A bit like London, for the size of the county we were massively under-represented with breweries. We could still do with more and also for the traditional ones to brew the odd new beer now and again (Goachers, Hopdaemon). New ones to spring up have been:- Old Dairy (bit older to be honest) Canterbury Brewers Canterbury Ales Hop Fuzz Time & Tide Wantsum Rockin’ Robin Musket Ripple Steam Pig & Porter (taken over the now defunct Royal Tundbridge Wells) Caveman Kent Tonbridge Spencers Abigale (new closed) Mad Cat I’ve been helped by two things, the 66 beers from Canterbury Brewers, I think I may have missed about 5 of their beers since they started and secondly that Neil at the Firkin Ale House micropub tries to get in beers from every new Kent brewery. I also went through 100 for Devon and Herefordshire recently which I was very pleased with. I need 6 more for 900 in Greater London which I hope to do on Saturday after my cycle ride from Limehouse Basin to Hayes on the canal tow paths. |
Kent? Pfff! Ian is man of the world!! |
Let me tell you about my life they say I am a man of the world as Peter Green once sang |
Right it’s now 6.49 am on a sunny Saturday morning and I am hurtling through Kent on my way to London on the train for a bit of a cycle and a few beers. |
