s there any difference in these from the original 750s, besides the packaging? The guy at the bottle shop said they were pasteurized, where as the originals were not. Any truth to this? Are these worth ageing? Why the hell didnt they just keep em in 750s?

cheers

I doubt the 750s were pasteurized b/c I used the dregs for HB that is definitely sour now. So either it was the bottle or I caught an infection.

Have no idea about the bombers.

I hope the new ones aren’t pasteurized. If they are, New Belgium killed a classic. I’m glad I still have 750s of this either way. 7/4/2009 11:50:44 AM

My buddy in Denver asked someone at the brewery about the bottle switch. It’s the same beer except pasteurized so they can have "more control" over the final product. So no mire culturing since it’s bottled with a neutral yeast :(

My thinking is they are trying to solidify the Lips of Faith line/brand and la Folie is a solid piece to that. Maybe it has to do with cutting costs for distro and it stretches the batch a bit too.

I do think that the 750s were classy. There is something to say about untwisting the cage and popping a cork as opposed to popping a cap.

On top of which, the price stayed the same! That was how they sold it, that it was gonna decrease their costs and drop the price...but it didn’t. 7/4/2009 12:31:14 PM

What was the price for the 750s?

In Chicago, we only got La Folie on tap.. but we got the Bombers in the market now and at 10.99 a bomber, I wasn’t upset. Grabbed up a half case for the cellar.

Pasteurized? When did they buy a flash pasteurizer? I have never seen one there... 7/4/2009 2:06:29 PM

I’d pay $15.00 if it was in the corked, caged 750. I’m having a hard time with $10.00 in a 22 oz. bomber. 7/4/2009 2:07:48 PM

I’d have no issue with a $10 bomber. That beer takes up a lot of tank space and time. 10 isn’t bad. 7/4/2009 2:16:28 PM

Your having a hard time at 90ml’s less for the 1/3rd of the price off?

Sites like liquidsolutions were selling the new bombers at 14.99 a pop.. now that wasn’t too good in my book, seeing as it was the same price as the 750s.

10.99 is much more palatable, especially if the quality of the beer is the same.
