I’m saying I’d rather have the sexy bottle with unpasturized beer in this particular case. 7/4/2009 2:56:31 PM

For once I agree with you.

I fear the days of La Folie standing as one of the best-aging beers around are no longer.

Although what’s the word about the 750’s still being available at the brewery only? Has anyone here confirmed that from an "official" source? If that’s the case, and they’re still prepared and packaged the same old "classic" way (bottle-conditioned, unpasteurized, corked-and-caged), I’d have no problem with what they’re doing now-- "The Good Shit" will still be obtainable for a little bit of effort (about the same accessibility as I have had to it for the past 7+ years), and a reasonable facsimile thereof will be much more readily available, and for a lower price. Win-win!

Beer is much better in a glass than straight out of the bottle....

How about that?

I feel the same way. What I’ll probably end up doing is holding onto the 7 remaining 750s I have for special occasions and buy some bombers to give the pasteurized version a test drive. While it won’t be as amazing as the original, it’ll probably still be enjoyable. Rodenbach Grand Cru is a shadow of what it once was, but it is still enjoyable.

Drank a bomber the other night and didn’t really notice a difference, though other than having it on draft a few times over the last couple of years, I haven’t had the 750ml version for a while 7/4/2009 5:39:45 PM

$10 bomber pastuerized is ridiculous if you ask me. More like $7 or 8 would be better.

Wow, it’s about $15 for a bomber here, and was $18 for the 750ml bottle. Who cares how it’s packaged though? Just because it’s got a cap on top instead of a cork doesn’t make it taste different.

10.99 is much more palatable, especially if the quality of the beer is the same.

Stores in Ft Collins have them marked at~$15 per bomber.
