$10 bomber pastuerized is ridiculous if you ask me. More like $7 or 8 would be better.

Wow, it’s about $15 for a bomber here, and was $18 for the 750ml bottle. Who cares how it’s packaged though? Just because it’s got a cap on top instead of a cork doesn’t make it taste different.

The cap v. cork thing is not the important distinction. The pasteurized v. unpasteurized debacle is the main difference that most are concerned about, I believe.

And yah, all things being equal, a cork and a cage are a classier form of presentation. But it’s definitely more expensive to package that way, so I don’t necessarily *require* it. Just make sure the beer is as good as possible.

I agree that its the pasteurization, but presentation and finishing touches sure don’t hurt. Corked and caged bottles get my attention and I may not mind paying that extra few dollars for it. Imagine a bottle of Darklord without that great dripping wax. Not the same as plain old bomber of Darklord. 7/4/2009 7:38:46 PM

Had in on tap yesterday at the map room, and bought a bomber at westview liquors. Also had the corked and caged 750 recently. I’ll let you guys know when I open it in a bit if it’s different. 7/4/2009 8:30:53 PM

Had a few over the last week, still tastes great, and while it has been a while since I had the 750 mls, I didn’t detect any discernible difference. 7/4/2009 9:09:41 PM

I don’t really get much a difference in the bottle i’m drinking now, except for the missing aesthetics of the cork/caged 750. If a bomber means I can get this beer on a semi regular basis, I’m fine with a bomber. 7/4/2009 9:45:57 PM

In Chicago, we only got La Folie on tap.. but we got the Bombers in the market now and at 10.99 a bomber, I wasn’t upset. Grabbed up a half case for the cellar.

Agreed. I actually just cracked an old 750 and compared it to the brand new LOF 22oz version. And while I expected age to better the older La Folie, they were very similiar and I am happily soured.

South Loop.. But that was now over a weel ago. It didn’t indicate a "just in" promotion, but occassionally they do that, lowering the prices for the first week. Regardless, f bottles at 10.99 for the cellar. Not bad.

Since 1 version is pasteurized and the other isn’t, shouldn’t these be 2 different entries in the database? 7/5/2009 12:02:56 AM

do we know its pasteurized? I just googled "lips of faith la folie pasteurized" and came up with this thread, a response to another thread on a different website saying it’s not pasteurized, and another website alleging it’s "probably pasteurized".
