ast year around this time I tried to make a pumpkin beer that I let cool down with the top off in front of the air conditioner as I fell asleep (open air fermenting). I just ran across the bottles and as I am dumping them out they have the unmistakable smell of a sour ale. While I know there is much more to making a beer than that I figure it has aged over a year and (at least) cooled down over night open before sealing and letting sit for a while. It aged in bottles for about a year. This recipe used real pumpkin, nutmeg and the usual spices. Should I even take a sip or continue dumping and enjoy the smell?
