I havnt seen older viscosity for sale around Boston yet, old viscosity is around 7-10$. Most of the Lost Abbey bottles are around 11-15 (I got a Judgment Day today for 14$) then I saw the Angels Share and almost grabbed it before I saw the price.
Is this price based solely on the rarity or on the ingredients and craftsmanship as well?
The worst part is that I was thinking of how I could justify spending that much on a bottle...couldnt do it...so now I am sitting at home thinking of how I can justify going back and spending that amount on a bottle.
If it’s a 750ml, $30 is what the brewery sells it for and a lot of stores have not marked it up much beyond that. The 375ml bottles are $15, which makes sense. Still, the flatness makes the beer not worth the price. It’s tasty and all, but damn. Just think, for $35 you can almost get 2 four packs of Goose Island’s Bourbon County stout. Different styles of beer, but it’s still strong, sweet, and barrel-aged. Some carbonation would make the money worthwhile, but otherwise I’d wait till the next release for a shred of optimism about the carbonation.
