Every time I open a bottle of Cantillon that I havenít tried, I fall in love for the first time all over again. Mother funker! The more my palate evolves, the more I appreciate their stuff. Donít get me wrong; I like Drie. But if you remove Armand from the equation, nothing comes close.

Both Drie Fonteinen and Cantillon are great. I think they both excel at different things. I like Drie Fonteinenís geuzes better, but I like Cantillonís fruit lambics better. They are the clear two winners, however, De Cam and Girardin (black label only) are very close in the geuze category. Tilquin isnít too far off either now. As far as fruit lambics go, nothing even compares to Cantillon and Fonteinen, except maybe De Cam Kriekenlambic.

Schaerbeekse Kriek vs. Lou Pepe Kriek
Framboos vs. Lou Pepe Framboise

Would be 2 interesting matches.

Iíll be doing the Framboos/Lou Pepe Framboise next weekend. Throwing in Gambrinus, Hanssens Experimental Raspberry, and GI Lolita for good measure.

havent had 2009 but the 2008 was the best kriek i have ever had, only followed by 2009 drie fonteinen. the lou pepe series as a whole is amazing, only one ive been let down by a bit was the gueuze.

Compare the LP Kriek 2009 you had to a LP Kriek 2008 and youíll fall jn love again :) In my opinion 2008 was a great year for LP Kriek and LP Framboise.
