k I’m staying put but Sim will be in New York City around June 20th. If any of you folks have any advice as to where my better half should go to drink while she is there and also anywhere she can pick up anything quality or rare to bring back with her it would be much appreciated.

I may be able to send her over with a bottle of Old Chimneys Good King Henry Special Reserve and a few other treats too if anyone fancies a little trade.

Where is she staying while she’s here? The can’t miss drinking places are as follows:
Blind Tiger
Hop Devil Grill
d.b.a.
Ginger Man (in midtown)

There are a lot of other good places. For bottle shops, there are two places that are good and are very close to one another

Whole Foods Bowery
New Beer Distributors

Williamsburg (in Brooklyn) also has some great beer bars. If she wants to meet up with some locals, I’m sure that can be arranged... we’re a pretty friendly lot.

Thanks for the advice. I’ll be staying in Williamsburg.

Not got much time so probably can’t meet up for a session, but can meet up for a trade if anyone is interested. Definitely got a bottle of Good King Henry Reserve and possibly some other treats. Gimme a shout.

Ah, if in Williamsburg, be sure to hit Barcade, Spuyten Duyvil and Fette Sau. There is a good bottle shop there as well, Spuyten Duyvil Grocery.

The Diamond & Gutter, both in Greenpoint, might be worth your while. 5/13/2008 6:16:06 PM

-Spuyten Duyvil +1 ! They are bound to have some really neat stuff in bottles and on draught.
-Bierkraft: a quality bottle shop that has a growler system with the pressure fill, these growlers will keep for up to four months unopened (just don’t lay them on their side). You can get some draught-only goodies like certain Captain Lawrence and Sixpoint, and other random gems.
-Eagle Grocery

In Manhattan:
-New Beer Distributor
-American Distributor

I hit up some or all of these places every time I visit The City and I always come away with less money (oh yeah, and more beer...).

I would skip Eagle Provisions unless you want crappy E. Euro lagers and American is in Brooklyn

Eagle is where I found two bottles of Sixpoint Bolshoi and batch one of CL Extra Gold and St Vincents Double.

Where in Europe are they brewed?eye roll
Plus I found two pints Youngs Old Nick there, too. (the last batch)

American is in Brooklyn, sorry for the mix up. When I was there on Saturday it was after New Beer and before Bierkraft and Eagle so I was little turned around in my head.

Lighten up dude. The reason "no one" goes there is why I found treasures that would have otherwise been sold out elsewhere. You made it sound like Eagle is where you go for low end eastern block beers, but the fact still remains that an avid beer hunter may find something of value there.

I stand by myeye roll
