Mildless in May

Message Travlr beers 33863 º places 4576 º 08:57 Wed 5/18/2016 We had a nationwide Mild thing in the US last May and I saw a grand total of 3. And I do tend to get out & about a bit. I very much like milds as well. Fortunately on my last UK trio in November, I specifically targeted milds, got quite a few at three festivals, and have now rated over 100 (one of my goals is to rate 100 in every style). Maybe for my next UK trip I’ll target polotmavys or lambic-faros and see how it goes...

Message theprof beers 4273 º places 42 º 12:42 Thu 5/19/2016 Well Nottingham CAMRA is keen and I have sampled about 20 different ones this month. Drinking Nottingham Foundry mild currently and it seems to capture the malty essence of the style.

Message Fin P beers 17267 º places 1653 º 00:50 Mon 5/23/2016 It does seem that they are becoming increasingly rarer to spot. I have managed 164 over all my years of rating with 27 and 28 the best yearly totals in 2009 & 2010 respectively, the last couple of years I have only just crept into double figures. I think that I tend to be quite broad in terms of what styles I try so I do think that they are becoming increasingly harder to find.

Message jjsint P beers 7710 º places 1334 º 05:46 Tue 5/24/2016 Got two of the buggers yesterday and Cambridge Beer Fest. Salopian’s Divine Comedy (ok but not as amazing as many of their beers) and Kissingate Gardenia Mild, which was a sweet, sweet, sweet golden mild. I loved it but can’t imagine many people feeling the same way.
